Day Thirteen
Waking Up

CLASSES:
Movement: We explored the 'stone', a Meyerhold exercise which starts with the dactyl. There is a bit where we drop to the side and come back up is very hard for me, the caution and weakness around my leg being the things I need to overcome.

Combat: We learned six parries with the true blade, including [what the Hell is the word for the offensive move of throwing/sliding the other's blade back?]s for 5 and 5a.
1 - Cut to quadrant one, lower half of body, non-dominant side.
2 - Cut to quadrant two, lower half of body, dominant side.
3 - Cut to quadrant three, lower half of body, dominant side.
4 - Cut to quadrant four, upper half of body, non-dominant side.
5 - Cut to head with arm parrying straight up.
5a - Cut to head with arm parrying straight up and arm crossed.
(Again the actual target is 2" away from the body, so a missed parry is dumb looking instead of dangerous.)

We practiced these in place and with advance/retreat and passing steps.

Speech: More into Omnish, and an assignment to do a two minute campaign speech.
1 - Short opening joke.
2 - Scathing rebuttal to latest charges from opponent.
3 - A moving tribute to the ruler of Omnia.
4 - 15 seconds of upbeat generalities about my legislative program.
5 - Big finish.

OBSERVATIONS/CLICKS:
My cold is lightening up and I'm starting to really enjoy the classes. My notes will probably be brief the next class or two. I'm hoping to journal with more detail again on Sunday.
